Primary Target
‘Star Trek: Discovery’ To End With Fifth Season In Early 2024 On Paramount+
Star Trek Release Dates: When to Expect All the New and Returning Shows
- Star Trek Discovery's 5th season has been pushed off to 2024, and Paramount announced it will be the final season. That will mean it will have lasted 7 years just like TNG, DS9 and VOY, and five seasons, one more than Enterprise.
- It also pioneered Star Trek as the flagship property for streaming, premiering on the fledgeling CBS All Access, which is now called Paramount+.
- Star Trek Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds generally get better reviews, and Picard is sort of in a nostalgia category of its own as is Prodigy which is animated and aimed towards kids..
- But this will be a turning point in Star Trek. You can sort of group it into eras
- The Original Series Era
- The original movies Era
- The Independent network era with TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT.
- The Abrams movie era
- And the Streaming era with Discovery et. Al
- Paramount has a Discovery spinoff called Section 31 starring Michelle Yeoh that has been in the works since 2019. And there are still hints of a Starlet Academy series, bolstered by the fact that Lt. Tilly left Discovery in season 4 to go teach.
- But Discovery was the mainline show. The heir of TOS and TNG.
- Where would we like to see the franchise go next?
How to Watch
Netflix Warns Content Will Suffer if It's Forced to Fund Network Upgrades
- European regulators are considering rules that would require streaming businesses to pay money toward the building of internet infrastructure. Newly-minted Netflix Co-CEO Greg Peters told the Mobile World Congress that requiring entertainment companies to subsidize ISPs would have a "significant adverse effect" on their ability to invest in content and hurt local creative communities. ISPs have said that increased usage of video services like Netflix are putting pressure on them to pay for network upgrades.

‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ Writer ‘Surprised’ by Terrible Reviews: ‘I Was in a Low Spot’ and ‘Really Sad About It’
- “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” screenwriter Jeff Loveness was surprised by the raking over the coals critics gave the film he helped write. He told The Daily beast, “I was in a pretty low spot… Those were not good reviews, and I was like, ‘What the …? I’m really proud of what I wrote for Jonathan [Majors] and Michelle Pfeiffer [scientist Janet Pym]. I thought that was good stuff, you know? And so I was just despondent, and I was really sad about it.” He then made the questionable choice to attend a public screening. And it worked. He listened as people in the audience laughed at many of the jokes he added to the script. “I’m like, ‘Goddamn! No, [the reviews] are wrong! ...I’m pretty happy with it overall, and I think I learned how to take a punch this week. And now that I learned that it’s not too bad, I can just get on with making things.” Loveness previously won an Emmy for the Rick and Morty's "Vat of Acid Episode."

Dispatches from the front
"You're still talking about Netflix's plans for cutting down on password sharing, so I thought I would chime in. I'm a truck driver. I have a Vizio TV in my truck, with many video apps, including Netflix. And I sometimes watch things on the Netflix app.
This device has never been on my home network and may never be. Am I going to have to get a special code every month to watch? I'm certain I'm not the only truck driver who is going to have this issue. Especially since there are plenty of truckers who don't have physical homes.

You guys know of any good pg sitcoms that my wife and I could enjoy together? It seems almost everything has either bad language or constant sex references. Anything that does fit the bill is usually 2 decades or more old.
Thank you sir!

My wife and I have a two-remote policy in our home so either of us can pause, rewind or pick what we are watching.
There are a lot of 3rd party remotes with buttons you might want on the bottom of your remote. If you can't or don't want to reprogram a remote button. These are worth the investment if you use the remote a lot or just want a second remote.
Love the Show
