Primary Target
Sony’s PlayStation Store Pulling Access to Purchased Studiocanal Movies Next MonthPlayStation Store removes purchased movies from libraries after service shutdownPlayStation Store to discontinue movie and TV purchases and rentals
- Last year on August 31st, Sony stopped offering TV shows and movies in its PlayStation Store. At the time it wrote that after that day, "users can still access movie and TV content they have purchased through PlayStation Store for on-demand playback on their PS4, PS5 and mobile devices."
- But they didn't say for how long. And as of August 31st this year, customers in Germany and Austria, "will no longer be able to view your previously purchased Studio Canal content and it will be removed from your video library." Variety says that's about 314 titles in Germany and 137 in Austria.
- And most importantly, that includes both Paddington movies and because of licensing deals, it also includes some Lionsgate films like John Wick and Hunger Games.
- We haven't heard whether any refunds would be offered.

Dispatches from the Front
I'm sorry if Brian is sinking deeper into 3DD.

A few days ago I received an email from Patreon telling me my credit card had expired. Since then, I have tried updating the card and adding other cards every day.  None of them workThese cards all continue to work at Amazon and other on-line vendors.

Given Patreon has a message about improvements to the website, and the help page comes back with a 404, I'm guessing the problem is on their end. In the meantime:  Brian should take an aspirin, force fluids and get some bed rest.

I'll keep trying until something works.

Thanks,

- George

Hey Killers,

...I really don't like the idea of banner ads covering up the bottom third of the program or even scrolling across the bottom like some broadcast stations have done: creators make their content so we can see what's going on everywhere in the frame. I don't want a banner ad covering up something crucial, or entertaining, or whatever else in the frame the director or set designer or actor planned it to be. ...

Give me ads at the beginning and end of every episode. Give me ads on the home screen where I select content - like Roku does. Heck, put a banner ad on the bottom of the home screen and another ad on the side like Roku - just don't put a banner ad over the programming. I'll even take ad breaks within the programming to avoid a banner ad covering the content.

Thanks for listening to me ramble.

- Kev

I canceled Netflix YEARS ago. Something I think they could do to get some of us "lost users" back is to allow us to login and at least SEE what is available on Netflix without signing up. ...

I've never understood why they hide their library behind "you must pay us first!"

Entice us, Netflix! Entice us!

Later!

Hey Bryce, Tom and Brian

I watch baseball, but only occasionally, and primarily the Yankees. I live in CT which is geofenced to be Yankee territory and I've cut the cord since 2013 (no YES network). I was thrilled to see Apple+ was going to have Friday night games, and Amazon has Yankee games when it was going to be broadcasted on WOR-9 in NY (far too far away for my mohu leaf antenna to catch though). [[BUT]] The promise of the Apple+ Big Inning was supposed to be that you get the best of every game being played on the other nights that they aren't showing a full game, but I get whiplash and confused as to which game is playing and is it live or is it replay from moments ago. ...

So I have a 6 year old, a 13 year old and an HBO Max account on my Roku TV.

Tell me I'm stupid and I am missing something obvious. It seems to me that HBO Max only lets you set a PIN for your child's account so that they can't leave their account.

I can't find a way to put a PIN on the Parents account. So when my kids open HBO Max on the Roku TV they are presented a screen of accounts and they can select theirs but then I have to put in a PIN for them, or they can select daddy's account and watch Westworld, Game of Thrones, The Suicide Squad, etc.

How do I keep my 6 year old from watching "Human Centipede" by accident? I checked Human Centipede isn't on HBO Max right now but I think you see my point.

Love the Show.

Your Boss
