Primary Target
AI can put your face into a Warner Bros. trailer
Bannisterandassociates
-Warner Brothers is using a company called D-ID to let you put yourself in the trailer for the movie reminiscence. Head to bannisterandassociates.com and you'll be asked a few questions, do a few things to "fine tune" the memory, and upload a picture. At the end you get brief snippets from the trailer with your head floating in a screen blinking and in my case smiling. D-ID started as a company to protect people against facial recognition but built a string face engine that can train on a single photo. D-ID is the same company that created videos from photos of dead relatives. They're working with museums to create videos of artists talking about their work.

- And D-ID is developing full body animation as well which could be used for TikTok, YouTube and movies.

How to Watch
Nestflix is a Netflix for fake movies and shows from real movies and shows
-Designer Lynn Fisher has created an alternate world streaming video website called Nest-flix that looks a lot like Netflix but only lists movies and TV shows from inside the world of other movies and TV shows, at nestflix.fun.
- Listings include Aquaman starring the character of Vincent Chase from entourage. And Rural Juror as featured int he series 30 Rock.
- Fisher describes it as a "wiki doing some cosplay." Since there is no actual streaming video on the site. However it does have descriptions, screenshots and cast lists. And more to the Wiki claim, you can contribute shows or movies that aren't listed to help make it more comprehensive-- Though Fisher got so many she had to temporarily pause submissions.

What to Watch
‘Y: The Last Man’ Team on Exploring Gender and Identity in FX on Hulu Adaptation
- Variety interviewed the team behind the upcoming TV version Y: The Last Man and dealing with a question we relied on the show previously. How do you update the story that ran as a graphic novel from 2002-2008, for 2021.
- One thing showrunner Eliza Clark said is that they focus on the fact that the virus wipes out people with Y chromosomes. Clark says "every living mammal with a Y chromosome dies. Tragically, that includes many women; it includes non-binary people; it includes intersex people." Clark adds "there are numerous men in the show who have two X chromosomes; they’re important characters.”
- One thing different about the show is that Yorik can walk around without a mask because he's assumed to be trans.
- Other things aren't different like the fact that 95% of truck drivers are men, with Y chromosomes, which leaves the logistics industry in a huge mess just like in the book.

‘Atlanta’: FX Shares Update On Season 3 & 4
- FX shared that Atlanta season 3 just finished shooting. It's expected to premiere in 2022, but the schedule still isn't set. - Amazon is set to acquire MGM sometime next year, but the first road block has been put in its way. Four major labor unions wrote a letter to the US FTC requesting the acquisition not be allowed. The letter claimed harmful vertical integration would cause an anticompetitive situation if Amazon owned MGM. If the merger is allowed the letter asked for significant conditions be placed on it to stop anticompetitive behavior.

Vulture's source says HBO Max will replace its apps with news version that work better in the next four or five months. Roku and PlayStation would be the first to get them, followed by Apple TV then mobile and web in early 2022.

Dispatches from the Front

I love Hearing your discussion about Dr. Who potential replacements but what I didn’t hear you talk about was who is going to be the next showrunner.

Thanks
- Chris

Hi!

A few weeks ago I purchased an OTT "cable" package (YouTube TV specifically) so I could watch all of the Olympics content, and today I canceled it as intended. The whole experience reminded me of why I killed the cord years ago. I am completely floored that people pay so much money for the privilege of being interrupted by annoying commercials several times throughout a show. I'm glad we have alternatives now.

Thanks for breaking down the cord cutting world each week!

- Marcus
