Disney Plus Hits 73.7 Million Subscribers As They Reach Their One-Year Anniversary
-Disney reported its Disney+ streaming service hit 73.7 million subscribers as of the end of September, up 28% on the quarter. Disney+ Hotstar subscribers in India make up just over 25% of all Disney+ users. The company said across Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, the company now has over 120 million subscribers.
- In October, Netflix announced 195.15 million global subscribers in Q3 2020, with over 73 million in U.S. and Canada.
- HBO and HBO Max announced 38 million subscribers as of Q3 2020
- Peacock, 22 million sign-ups since launch in July.
- Today, there are 77.6 million U.S. households that have cable, satellite or telecom TV packages.


How to Watch
Roku begins AirPlay 2, HomeKit rollout starting with Ultra, Streambar, Streaming Stick Plus
- Roku is rolling out Roku OS 9.4 which includes support for Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. The update is arriving now on Roku's Ultra streaming box, Streambar and Smart Soundbar speakers, the Streaming Stick Plus and Premiere streaming sticks. 4K Roku TVs will get the update in the "coming days."

HBO Max arrives on Amazon Fire TV devices
- HBO Max will arrive on Amazon's FireTV devices starting Tuesday. HBO will continue to be available as a prime Vide channel add-on and those customers will be able to log into a separate HBO Max app at no additional cost. Still no word on a Roku deal for HBO Max. [[And if you're confused, peacock reached a deal with Roku but still has no deal with Amazon

What to Watch

WandaVision, Marvel’s first big Disney Plus show, will premiere on January 15th
- WandaVision will arrive on Disney Plus January 15. This is the one that follows Wanda Maximoff and Vision in a fantasy series set within a sitcom-inspired universe. It was in fact filmed before a live studio audience. Falcon and Winter soldier is still delayed until later in 2021.

Will Smith Announces ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion’ Premiere Date on HBO Max, Trailer Release
- HBO Max will release a reunion special for the Fresh prince of Bel-air Thursday. Almost all the cast are back including the original Aunt Viv, Janet Hubert who hadn't spoken to Smith for 27 years.
- HBO Max also has the back catalog of the original series. Confusingly a new dramatic reboot of Bel-Air produced by Will Smith is coming to Peacock.

‘Modern Austen’ Anthology Series Reimagining Of Jane Austen’s Novels In Works At The CW From Producer Stephanie Allain
- The CW is developing "Modern Austen" a reimagining of Jane Austen's novels from producer Stephanie Allain and written by Eleanor Burgess who wrote the HBO Perry Mason series. Each season will reimagine a different novel as modern stories.

Comedian Hasan Minhaj will play a recurring role on Season 2 of The Morning show, Eric, a rising star who joins the team. Its Minhaj's first dramatic role.

- Bloomberg's sources say Wonder Woman 1984 might stay on its Christmas Day release despite theaters not being open in New York and LA, two of its biggest markets. However, it would supposedly only run in theaters exclusively for one or two weeks, coming to HBO Max after that. It also might move to June 4, 2021.

David Fincher Has Signed a Four-Year Deal With Netflix, Director Tells French Magazine
- David Fincher's film Mank comes to Netflix December 4 and he told a French magazine that he has signed a four-year exclusive deal with Netflix. He said he was two exhausted to do a third season of Mind Hunter so asked for a film deal instead.

AMC launches private movie theater rentals starting at $99
- AMC has expanded its theater rental offering after a four-week trial. Private movie showings cost $99 plus tax for up to 20 people. New release movies like Tenet cost between $149 and $349.

Apple TV app arrives on PS4 and PS5
- Apple TV app for Sony's new PlayStation 5 released along with the console last week. The Apple TV app gives you access to Apple TV plus and its add-on channels with a subscription as well as any content you have purchased from Apple. Apps are available for Xbox, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, some Samsung and LG TVs and of course Apple-made devices.

Netflix’s latest experiment is a TikTok-like feed of funny videos
-Netflix is offering a feed of short-form comedy clips called "Fast Laughs" in vertical video on mobile. The feed is designed to encourage users to add shows to their watch list. You can also react to clips with a laughing emoji button, share the clip on social media, or tap a “More” button.

Hulu with Live TV increasing its price to $65 a month
- Hulu with Live TV is raising its price by $10 to a new price of $64.99 a month starting December 18. By comparison, the average cable bill was pegged at $217.42 in March.

How about introducing Netflix Pilot. The new free TV channel that includes all the pilot episodes of every show on Netflix. I was just thinking back to the day when you would actually buy a pilot of a TV show. It might be an interesting way to get feedback for new TV show ideas and that's the marketing name.

Also PlayOn kind of allows you to replace a sling box.
