Cineworld Confirms “Temporary Suspension” Of Theatres In U.S. & UK
Regal will close theaters again on October 8th amid movie delays
- Oh theaters. We though Tenet would be your big test case but then it all got messy as Covid infections didn't proceed in a nice linear declining fashion like you wanted.
- So where are we now? Looks like 2021 is the new target for full returns to the theater.
- The first sign of this new shift was the move of No Time to Die from November to April 2, 2021. Remember No Time to Die was the first big movie to shift dates back in March.
- One of the other movies to shift in March was F9 which has now also moved from April 2 to May 28, 2021.
- And Dune moved from December to October 1st, 2021.
- That leaves Pixar's "soul" on November 20 as the next big release not he calendar. Wonder Woman 1984 is still set for December... for now.
- The final shoe to drop in last week's edition of the moving date of movie returns was Cineworld announcing it will close its 536 Regal theaters in the US and 127 Cineworld Picturehouses fun the UK starting this Thursday October 8.
- Cineworld cited the studio release schedule as the reason. It awaits "more concrete guidance" on reopening.
- Tenet has made more than $300 million worldwide but barely beat 1993 movie Hocus Pocus this weekend in the US.

Hi, Tom, Brian and Brice.
I just realized I have not watched your show on YouTube for several weeks. It is not that I didn’t want to, but as a busy individual I have always relied on Youtube email notifications for when new episodes of shows I watch are available. Have you found other viewers have had the same problem. I think all YouTube creators should ask Youtube to reinstate the email notifications.
Thanks
- Cliff
Is Ted Lasso Apple TV’s first bonafide viral hit? I heard about it first from Tom, but has subsequently heard multiple unconnected people talk about it. I loved it and it’s the only reason I’d keep my subscription after the free year is up.
Thanks
