Amazon has doubled the number of ads per hour it shows on Prime Video if you don’t pay more for the ad-free plan. You now get 6 minutes of ads per hour. It’s an extra $3 a month to get rid of them.
Netflix shows 4 to 5 minutes of ads per hour, Max claims about 4 minutes, Peacock shows 5 to 7 minutes of ads per hour, while linear TV shows 13 to 16 minutes of ads hourly.
Amazon and Roku are teaming up to let buyers in Amazon Ads (DSP) place their ads on Roku’s platforms, giving them access to 80% of connected TV households between Amazon Prime Video, FireTVs, and Roku.
Amazon is also integrating Disney’s Real-time Ad Exchange into Amazon DSP.
Netflix is partnering with Yahoo to use its programmatic advertising system for people to buy ads on Netflix.
